Up for sale is a classic piece of mid-century outdoor gear: an Official Boy Scout Pathfinder Compass Manufactured by Silva, Inc. (Model No. 1051). Since there are no air bubbles in the liquid capsule, the needle dampens smoothly and accurately. The polished aluminum rotating dial turns crisply, and all gold and black text on the clear acrylic baseplate is sharp, fully legible, and free of fading. This is an excellent addition for any vintage scouting memorabilia collector or traditional outdoors enthusiast looking for a working piece of history. I can vouch for the provenance of this item as it belonged to my late husband when he was a wee Cub Scout, some 75 years ago.
