Pretty vintage (or antique) helmet-style copper and brass fireplace coal scuttle featuring ornate brass lion-head mountings and a blue-and-white Delft porcelain rear handle. Integrated pedestal base, a pivoting swing handle, and decorative cast brass lion-mask brackets. Originally crafted in Europe (frequently the Netherlands or England) during the 19th to mid-20th century to transport fireplace coal, now commonly repurposed as fireside decor or a floral planter. Patina consistent with age. Measures approximately 11” x 11”.
