Incredibly rare, highly collectible piece of maritime pop-culture history: the 1998 Enesco Titanic Collection Porcelain Ceramic Saving Bank. This item comes 100% complete and new in its original box (NIB).HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE & RARITY:
Released in 1998 to capture the massive global phenomenon of James Cameron’s 1997 film, this porcelain series had an incredibly short production run. Shortly after hitting retail store shelves, Enesco faced widespread public criticism for depicting a historic maritime tragedy as a novelty coin bank. Yielding to pressure, Enesco permanently discontinued the entire line and pulled all unsold items from store shelves almost immediately. Because of this swift recall, very few copies survived in retail condition, making this one of the most sought-after oddities for Titanic completists and 90s novelty collectors.
