Vintage 1986 Corn Palace Stampede belt buckle from the 16th Annual Rodeo in Mitchell, South Dakota.
This is a detailed vintage commemorative rodeo buckle featuring a bull in the center, the word “Stampede” across the top, and “Corn Palace” and “Mitchell South Dakota” around the border.
The back has several original information plaques. One plaque identifies it as a “16th Annual Rodeo Limited Edition” and appears to be numbered No. 169 of 300.
Another plaque explains the history of the Corn Palace Stampede and P.R.C.A. Rodeo, while another states that the buckle was made exclusively for the Corn Palace Stampede. The bottom plaque is marked “1986 Corn Palace Stampede Committee.”
This would make a great addition to a vintage rodeo collection, Western memorabilia collection, belt buckle collection, or collection of Corn Palace and South Dakota souvenirs.
The buckle has an attractive dark antiqued finish with gold-tone highlights that bring out the raised bull, lettering and border details.
Approximate size: 4 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall.
