Up for sale is a highly collectible, vintage 1952 Airflam Catalytic Pocket Lighter, complete with its original factory box and folded paper instruction sheet. Made in Germany, this historic piece of tobacciana was famous for winning a gold medal at the International Fair in Luxembourg.
Instead of using a traditional flint wheel or wick, this mechanical curiosity relies on a unique catalytic reaction between air, a platinum wire filament, and methanol vapor.
