Condition Description:
Up for sale is a gorgeous, vintage 1945 Parker Vacumatic Major fountain pen in the highly sought-after Golden Pearl stacked celluloid. This pen is being sold in unrestored, \"as-is\" condition, fresh from a private collection.
The Highlights:
- Spectacular Barrel Transparency: The absolute standout feature of this pen is its exceptional clarity. When held up to a light source, it glows with a beautiful, vibrant amber-red transparency. The horizontal laminations are incredibly crisp and free of the heavy ink staining typical for pens of this era.
- Springy Plunger: The translucent amber plastic filling plunger is intact, un-jammed, and has a smooth, soft, springy bounce when gently tested.
- Cosmetics & Nib: The celluloid body retains an excellent glossy shine with minimal surface wear. The 14K gold arrow nib is structurally straight with plenty of tipping material remaining. The gold-plated trim shows very minimal wear for its age.
Please note: Because this is an authentic, untouched 80-year-old vintage instrument, it will require a standard internal rubber diaphragm replacement to safely hold ink and write. It is an absolute prime candidate for restoration or a fantastic addition to any collection.
