This beautiful antique embossed postcard, copyrighted in 1909 by publisher Geo. F. Holbrook, depicts a comforting and classic Edwardian-era religious scene. Entitled with the poignant bedtime prayer caption reading I pray the Lord my soul to keep along the lower border, the vibrant color lithograph illustrates a mother in a long blue dress and an orange patterned blouse kneeling beside a brass rail bed frame. She gently cradles her small child who is dressed in white nightclothes, while a second young child kneels on a decorative striped area rug with hands clasped together in evening prayer. Rising behind the brass headboard, a radiant, white-robed guardian angel with pink wings and a glowing halo looks down upon the domestic family scene with arms extended in protection. The reverse layout features a traditional unposted divided back configuration with explicit sections designated for the correspondence message and the recipient address details alongside a standard postage stamp box framework. This authentic piece of early 20th-century paper ephemera remains in great vintage condition, displaying soft edge corners, light age-related reverse foxing, and crisp embossed detailing surfaces.ITEM SPECIFICSPublisher: Geo.
