Design & Cultural Symbolism
Central Motifs: Features large, intricately detailed geckos/lizards encircling a central dragonfly motif. In Pueblo culture, water-dwelling and moisture-seeking creatures like lizards and dragonflies are sacred symbols of rain, renewal, and abundance.
Framing Details: Surrounded by dynamic geometric panels incorporating fine-line crosshatching, stepped cloud motifs, and abstract avian patterns.
Color Palette: Rendered in a traditional three-tone polychrome natural slip—warm terracotta red, rich manganese black, and a cream/buff background ground.
