Mid-Century Mexican Repujado Tin Wall Plaque — Mayan God Ek ChuahEnhance your folk art collection with this striking mid-century vintage repujado (embossed/hand-hammered metal) decorative wall hanging. Crafted in Mexico circa 1950s–1970s, this piece features a highly detailed, stunning relief of the ancient Mayan deity Ek Chuah.
In pre-Hispanic mythology, Ek Chuah is a fascinating figure of dual nature—revered both as the fierce God of War (dios de la guerra) and as the benevolent patron deity of merchants, travelers, and chocolate (as cacao beans were utilized as currency in Mayan culture).
