SIZE: 3.5 x 3.5 cm 8.1 gramsVintage Mid-20th Century Our Lady of Einsiedeln Devotional Pilgrim Brooch Pin
- Up for sale is a beautifully designed, high-relief devotional pilgrimage pin dedicated to Our Lady of Einsiedeln (The Black Madonna of Switzerland). This exquisite piece features a stunning central medal held securely by traditional prongs inside an elegant, openwork wire frame. It makes a magnificent addition to any collection of religious medals, Catholic history, or European shrine memorabilia.
- Front (Obverse): Features a detailed, silver-toned depiction of the crowned Black Madonna holding the Infant Jesus. Both figures are wearing their traditional, heavily embroidered robes (the Divitiae). The background radiates with brilliant, stylized holy rays. The German inscription reads: "MARIA EINSIEDELN".
- Ornate Wire Frame: The central medallion is encased in an artistic, gold-toned wire frame decorated with delicate filigree loops and small polished spheres, forming an eye-catching diamond shape.
- Reverse Construction: Features a solid metal backing plate with a horizontal pin fastener. Please note that the C-catch hook closure has an early, functional solder repair (visible on the left side of the back image), which keeps the pin working and securely attached.
- Condition: Great vintage condition. The piece shows a lovely aged patina on both the brass frame and the silver-toned inner medallion, highlighting all the intricate details of the clothing and rays.
