Rare vintage matted and framed (metal) 8"x10" archival photograph taken on April 18th, 1950 showing President Harry S.Truman throwing out first pitch at Griffith Stadium. The game that day was the Washington Senators versus the Philadelphia Athletics. Truman was a lefty but he was amofferextrous and could throw a baseball with either hand. You can see in the photo that he also has another baseball in his right hand. He is surrounded by other famous political and sports figures including Bess Truman, Hall of Fame Short Stop Joe Cronin, Senators owner Clark Griffith, Philadelphia Athletic Manager Connie Mack, VP Alben Barkley, Senators manager Bucky Harris and others. There is a label on the back that has what appears to be a catalouge number for a museum or other archive. The photograph is in excellent condition but there is a small chip in the glass in the upper right corner, a few small scratches on the frame finish and minor damage on the backing. There is a minor misspell on the label. It should be "Cronin" rather than (Cronen)
