VINTAGE 1953 Brown & Bigelow Baseball Playing Cards - Double Deck SEALED Geo E Failing Supply Co Oil Memorabilia
This is a never-opened pristine double-deck of playing cards featuring illustrations by the noted mid-century American artistBill Medcalf. Here you see the spirit of John McGraw hovering over young kids playing ball, Connie Mack, etc. The art is colorful, crisp and clean. This is a great piece of baseball history but also anhistoric artifact from the American oil and gas industry. It’s a promotional item from the George E. Failing company (GEFCO) that revolutionized drilling with portable rigs. The front of the red and gold presentation box features their slogan “cores will tell”. This is a 70+ year old item that looks brand new and would be a highlight of any baseball or oil-and-gas industry historical collection.
