The notice records that Alabama Congressman John H. Buchanan was unable to attend and that Armistead I. Selden Jr., then Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, appeared as guest speaker. Selden was an Alabama attorney, congressman, and later diplomat.Accompanying the program is a brushed-metal ceremony pass printed with the USS Tuscaloosa crest, commissioning date, and a blue cord.The USS Tuscaloosa was a Newport-class tank landing ship commissioned in 1970 and served with the United States Navy until 1994.ConditionProgram and insert show light age toning, scattered spotting, and minor handling wear.
