WWI Paul Marcel Dammann 1923 France To the Unknown Soldier Large Bronze MedalRARE and CollectibleLarge 2 10/16" and 4.9 ozart medal was created by master sculptor Paul-Marcel Dammann to commemorate the third anniversary of a historic event: the November 11, 1920, burial of France's Unknown Soldier beneath the Arc de Triomphe [Numista (Item #445751)]. Struck officially by the Paris Mint, the medal was designed as an artistic tribute to honor the unidentified infantrymen (poilus) who lost their lives on the Western Front during the Great War [Numista (Item #445751)].
