This set includes two newly produced 4" × 6" photographic prints documenting the site of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, one of the most significant industrial disasters in American history.
On March 25, 1911, fire swept through the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory on the upper floors of the Asch Building in New York City. The disaster killed 146 workers, many of them young immigrant women. The tragedy drew national attention to dangerous factory conditions and helped build support for stronger workplace and fire-safety regulations.

Investigations and public outrage following the disaster contributed to a broader movement for improved factory conditions, fire safety and labor protections.
This set is especially relevant to the study of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, Progressive Era reform, immigration, women's labor history, industrialization, workplace safety, New York City history, garment workers and American labor history.
