On the night of November 5, 1975, Travis Walton was working with a logging crew in Arizona when the group reported seeing a brightly glowing object hovering in the forest. According to the witnesses, Walton approached the object before a beam of light struck him. The frightened crew fled the scene, believing he had been killed.
When they returned with authorities, Walton was gone.
For five days, search teams combed the surrounding forest without finding a trace of him. Then, on November 10, Walton reappeared, claiming he had awakened aboard an unknown craft after the encounter. His account, along with the testimony of the six other witnesses, made international headlines and remains one of the most famous and debated UFO cases ever recorded.
The case inspired books, documentaries, and the 1993 film Fire in the Sky, and continues to be studied and debated nearly fifty years later.
