Tony Curtis Vintage Fan Studio Photo
A smiling black-and-white studio portrait of Hollywood star Tony Curtis, shown in a tuxedo with a paisley bow tie — a charming vintage fan studio photo from his 1950s heyday.
Tony Curtis (born Bernard Schwartz, 1925–2010) was one of the biggest movie stars of the 1950s. He shot to stardom at Universal in the early 1950s and earned his first major dramatic acclaim opposite Burt Lancaster in Sweet Smell of Success (1957). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for The Defiant Ones (1958), co-starring Sidney Poitier. Curtis then became a beloved comedy star with Some Like It Hot (1959) alongside Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon and Operation Petticoat (1959), and appeared in the epic Spartacus (1960). With his dark good looks and charismatic screen presence, he was a favorite subject of fan photographs. He was married to Janet Leigh (1951–1962) and was the father of Jamie Lee Curtis.
This original vintage fan studio photo is in very good condition for its age. The front shows the smiling portrait; the back is blank except for the name \"Tony Curtis\" handwritten in pencil, with a small \"3.\" in the corner. Measures approximately 5 x 4 inches. Please examine the photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
Please note: this is a vintage fan studio photo, NOT an autograph — it is not personally signed by Tony Curtis. A wonderful piece of movie memorabilia for collectors of classic Hollywood and 1950s film stars.
