Cover oxidation. Missing corner piece of back cover.

This is a low grade item. It will be complete and readable, but will show significant wear. Allowed defects for this grade include: spine roll, a moderate amount of staining or water damage, writing or other marks on the cover, up to one inch spine splits or other tears, a cover or centerfold that is detached at one staple, discoloration due to oxidation, and a minor piece or pieces missing. An item could be assigned this grade due to either an accumulation of minor/moderate defects or one or two major defects.

Description

Cover by Ernie Bushmiller. Stories and art by Ernie Bushmiller, Charles Schulz, Al Capp, Sam Leff, Henning Mikkelsen, and Elsie Hix. Tip-Topper Comics collected some of United Features Syndicates most popular comic strips of the 1940s in full color, including Lil Abner and Fritzi Ritz. Fritzi was later known as "Aunt Fritzi" in the Nancy comic strip. After slipping on the ice, Phil Fumble gets Fritzi's Christmas presents mixed up. One of the backup strips in the comic is Charles Schulz's Peanuts, then only in its fourth year; several daily strips are presented in full color. Boxer Curly Kayoe agrees to fight wrestler Beautiful Benny after he gets a letter from the IRS. Plus a Li'l Abner storyline by Al Capp and the Ripley-like Strange as It Seems.
