• The King's Crown (Thumbprint) pattern originated as Excelsior, introduced by Adams & Co. around 1891, and was later reproduced by Tiffin, U.S. Glass, and Indiana Glass
• The ruby color was achieved by flashing — a thin stained coating fired onto clear pressed glass — rather than using solid ruby glass throughout
