Striking vintage black-and-white photograph by Susan Felter, dated 1975 and signed/inscribed in pencil on the verso.
The photograph captures a remarkable suspended moment: a young figure flies face-down through an open expanse of sky, his body seemingly weightless above the trees and lights below. At the lower right edge, the partial head of a spectator enters the frame, looking upward toward the airborne figure. The unusual angle and considerable negative space give the photograph an almost surreal quality while retaining the immediacy of a captured real-world moment.
Details: approximately 10 x 14 inches, black-and-white photographic print, landscape orientation. Verso is signed/identified Susan Felter and dated 1975 in pencil. Unframed.
Condition: The print shows age and handling consistent with a vintage photographic print. Most notably, the sheet has a visible overall wave/curl or warping, which can be seen in the photographs, particularly when the print is lying flat. There are also minor signs of handling/age. I have photographed the front and verso carefully so the buyer can assess condition. There are no intentional attempts to conceal or digitally correct the physical distortion in the condition photographs. Proper archival matting and framing may help the print present flatter, but no guarantee is made that the existing wave will be fully corrected.
