Up for sale are some New-Old-Stock GP straps that I\'ve attached some slingloop adapters onto, so that you can thread onto rifles that may not have conventional sling mounting points.
Using the thin 3/4\" nylon webbing and triglides, you\'re able to create new sling mounting points out of places like the front sightbase, mlok slots, footman loops, etc.
The GP strap, \"Canteen Strap\", or Map Case strap is a famous piece of USGI equipment that has persisted since about WW2. A real do-all piece that lives up to the name of \"General Purpose\", its used as a way to add a convenient carry strap to things like ammo cans, shoulder bags, and really whatever needs carrying around.
They were famously used for early Carbines in Vietnam, as there were no real issued slings. There are a bunch of photos of special forces toting around rifles with modified GP Slings
Israel also has a long history of using these slings, even up to the current day. My understanding is that since they fielded a wide variety of weapons, both indigenous and imported, they needed a universal sling that could attach to any weapon. The GP strap with various adapters or paracord loops proved to be the solution, which is why you see them still in use on their many rifles.
