The templates also show the tote-rod bore angle from our high resolution three dimensional scans.This tote-rod bore angle is not a critical dimension. Some replacement tote makers specify anywhere from 25° to 27° and they are all correct because this small difference is of little practical importance. The 7/32in.(#12) plain-steel rod has ample clearance within the 5/16” bore and can flex slightly to accommodate minor angular variation. The tote base angle and mating geometry are considerably more important and should be accurately measured from the original tote handle if you have it or plane casting base to ensure firm, even seating.If you have a router table and a 15/16in. (0.938in.) bullnose bearing router bit, these template sets will assist you in making your own replacement tote handles. One other option is to use a flush trim router bit to follow the template profile and then contour each side with a 1/2in. (0.500in.) round-over router bit and finish by hand
