Scarce New Haven Chariot Model Spelter Figural Cherub Desk Clock Ca 1905 See Description
This is a very hard to find antique New Haven Clock Co. Chariot model desk clock, circa 1905. It features a very detailed gilt decorated spelter casting of a winged cherub sitting atop a clock cargo and driving a chariot being pulled by two doves in flight. It measures about 10" tall x 8 1/2" long. It has a 2" porcelain dial surrounded by a wreath of small cut gem stones. There aren't many of these clocks around, but in my research, this is the only one I have seen with these gem stones.
The clock has a 30 hour spring driven movement with lever escapement in running condition. Unfortunately, the minute hand is missing. Otherwise, the clock is in excellent condition. It comes with a key that may not be original.
These clocks rarely are found, so don't miss out. It will be double boxed and well packed. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out our store for more interesting quality my other listings for more great items!
