Vintage Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT / French Line) porcelain made by GDA Limoges, France and associated with the SS France service of circa 1962.
This four-piece group includes 2 cups and 2 matching saucers. Each piece is white porcelain decorated with double gold bands, with the circular CGT/French Line monogram in gold on the cups. Pieces bear the GDA Limoges France maker\'s mark on the underside.
The elegant design continues the tableware tradition created by French designer Jean Luce for the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, originally developed for the Normandie service and subsequently used aboard the SS France.
Condition: Preowned vintage condition with signs of age and use. One saucer has a hairline crack visible from both the front and underside. The line is smooth to the touch but does extend through the porcelain and is therefore being described as a hairline crack. The second saucer and both cups have no chips or cracks observed. There is wear to the gold decoration, including areas of thinning/loss to the gold rims and monograms, along with light surface wear. Some discoloration and use wear are present around the unglazed foot rings. Please review all photographs closely, particularly the detailed photographs of the hairline.
