This is a high-fidelity replica of Soviet VDV RD-54 paratrooper assault load-carrying gear set, originally designed for Soviet airborne & special reconnaissance troops.
Made with heavy-duty thick cotton canvas, reinforced stitching, custom painted wooden buttons (molded from original Soviet specs, fully interchangeable with vintage wood-button versions) and bright electroplated metal hardware, restored to 1980s Afghanistan battlefield specification for maximum historical accuracy.

Structure & Features Main Pack Construction
- Built-in non-removable internal metal frame keeps the pack in a rigid square shape even when empty
- Side pockets on both sides of the main pack body for additional storage
- Padded shoulder straps reduce friction for long-wearing comfort, fitted with metal buckles and adjustable webbing for extra load support
- Small utility pocket on the right shoulder strap for small personal items
- Horizontal chest strap between shoulder straps helps distribute weight and keeps the pack stable during activity
- Two lower pull straps secure the pack tightly to your body
Drainage & Lashing System
- Ventilation/drainage holes on the bottom of main pack and both side pouches
- Each hole has an internal lashing strap that can be threaded through the metal eyelet to the outside
- Straps allow you to secure extra gear such as tents, sleeping bags, etc.
- Straps store neatly in internal compartments when not in use
Attachable Pouches
Removable pouches connect to main pack harness, with belt loops on rear for mounting onto field belt:
- Double magazine pouch: 17 × 22cm / 6.69 × 8.66in, single compartment width 7.5cm / 2.95in, rear belt loops fit belt under 5cm / 1.97in width
- Double grenade pouch: 13.5 × 10.5cm / 5.31 × 4.13in, with internal divider
- Shovel cover: 18.5 × 19.5cm / 7.28 × 7.68in, rear belt loops width 5.5cm / 2.17in, fits Soviet entrenching tool or same-size shovels
Soviet VDV troopers typically wear the shovel cover on one side of the belt, with a canteen or first aid pouch on the other side; the shovel cover can also be stored directly inside the backpack.
