**DOES NOT INCLUDE BASE**Up for sale is an incredibly rare, authentic 1970s Space Age Mid-Century Modern Arc Floor Lamp, featuring the iconic \"Springfontein\" (Gushing Fountain) shade designed by French architect Bertrand Balas for the prestigious Dutch lighting manufacturer RAAK Amsterdam. While the \"Springfontein\" shade is famously sought after as a ceiling pendant, it is exceptionally rare to find it in this factory-original, premium telescoping arc floor lamp configuration. This is a true holy grail piece for collectors of Space Age Italian and Dutch modern design.
Why This Piece is Exceptionally Rare• The Floor Lamp Variation: RAAK primarily manufactured and sold this design as a ceiling pendant. The factory arc floor lamp version was produced in highly limited numbers due to its high original cost and complex architectural engineering. Finding one today complete with its original telescoping frame is incredibly difficult.• The Architectural \"Fountain\" Cluster: Unlike standard mid-century eyeball or basic dome arc lamps, this shade features a brilliant two-piece design. Inside, a unique three-light cluster wraps around a central white column. When illuminated, light cascades outwards and downwards from the open center ring, beautifully mimicking the physics of a water fountain.• Exquisite Engineering: Features a flat-profile, adjustable brushed metal telescoping arm that extends seamlessly. The massive shade mounts to a heavy-duty chrome ball-joint swivel mechanism, allowing the user to tilt and pivot the massive light head to cast dramatic patterns into the room.Specifications & Details• Designer: Bertrand Balas (French Architect)

As with all vintage electronics, we highly recommend having it inspected or professionally rewired by an electrician to ensure compliance with modern standards before everyday use.
