RareTorquay Floral Pillar Candlestick
This exceptionally rare, retired Mackenzie-Childs\"Torquay\" pillar candlestick is a highly prized, ultra-limited variation.
It features a central column of hand-painted flowers over a clean, solid canvas instead of a checkerboard design, making it one of the hardest-to-find design executions in the Torquay archival timeline.
It also uniquely blends two coveted Torquay patterns into one spectacular form:(1) The fluted architectural base boasts the bold rust and yellow stripes and yellow dots of the classic Frank & Mustard series; and,(2) The top is decorated with alternating purple and green stripes from the sea-inspired Kelp & Urchin series.
This candlestick is an impressive 10\" tall with a 5\" by 5\" base and is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
Flip the candlestick over, and the raw terracotta bottom reveals the authentic impressed MacKenzie-Childs hallmark alongside the desirable 2003 \"CS\" studio decorator stamp, proving that this exact piece was individually hand-glazed by a master artisan at the original Aurora, New York studio.
