This is an extremely rare state-issued art portfolio of 13 prints in a folder from the Mozambican Revolution. It was printed to commemorate June 25th 1975, Independence Day, marking the historic date when the nation officially gained freedom from 470 years of Portuguese colonial rule, and May 1st “World Workers Day”.
The artwork features striking socialist realism and anti-colonial imagery , the vibrant designs feature individuals raising fists, carrying flags, and holding industrial and agricultural tools (hoes, hammers, etc.) symbolizing national rebuilding under the FRELIMO movement. Similar sets of this specific folio are preserved in world-class academic institutions, such as the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) Library in London.
These measure 10 3/4” by 14 3/4”, and are overall in very good condition. Please zoom in on the photos included and examine them closely for flaws.
