Rare original 1943 Maine State Police Complaint Forms and Regulations Manual.
This is an authentic WWII-era Maine State Police departmental manual dated May 12, 1943, with a foreword by Henry P. Weaver, Chief of the Maine State Police.
Contents include general rules of conduct, departmental rules and regulations, criminal complaint forms, motor vehicle complaint forms, and reference material intended for law-enforcement officers.
Of particular interest, this copy has period Maine State Police markings and apparent provenance:
Stamped “Maine State Police – State House – Augusta, Maine”
Hand-numbered #84
Handwritten “Capt. G. Seamans”
Additional handwritten period note instructing users to return the book when finished
Granville Seamans of Sanford, Maine, was one of the original members of the Maine State Highway Police commissioned in 1925 and later served as a Captain with the Maine State Police.
The manual appears to have been an actual working departmental copy rather than an unused publication.
Original black textured hardcover with gold lettering. It is more than 80 years old and shows age-related wear, page toning, handwriting/markings and other evidence of use. That being said, it is in very good condition for its age.
Please examine all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.
An unusual piece of Maine State Police, law-enforcement and WWII-era Maine history.
Sold as pictured.
