VTG Shearling-Lined Leather Flying Boot Uppers / Aviation Gaiters
Brown Leather • Size 10 • Early Aviation or Motoring • Display Piece

An intriguing pair of vintage shearling-lined brown leather flying boot uppers or cold-weather gaiters dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s. Constructed from heavy brown leather with thick natural sheepskin lining, brass side zippers, adjustable buckles, and matching leather size tabs marked 10, these were designed to provide insulation in extremely cold conditions.

While no maker's mark or military contract stamp was found, the construction is consistent with early aviation, motoring, or military-style cold-weather legwear. They present beautifully as historical display pieces and retain excellent visual character despite their age.

AI-generated styled/model photo included to show fit and styling possibilities; item photos show the actual piece.

What You'll Love…

Collectors appreciate authentic early leather gear because every surviving example tells part of the story of early aviation and motoring. These display wonderfully with vintage flight helmets, goggles, leather jackets, military collections, or rustic lodge décor. The rich aged leather has developed an attractive patina that would be difficult to reproduce today.

Interior sheepskin is fragile and actively deteriorating, with significant shedding, losses, discoloration, and areas where the wool has worn away.
Lower portions show deterioration and losses consistent with age.
No manufacturer's markings, military stamps, or contract labels were found.Seller Notes
These have not been cleaned or conditioned to preserve their original aged appearance. Any conservation or restoration should be left to the buyer's discretion.

Suitable for projects in the spirit of The Rocketeer, Pearl Harbor, Masters of the Air, Indiana Jones, or stage productions requiring authentic-looking period leather equipment. Because of the fragile interior shearling, these are best suited for display or light prop use rather than repeated wear.
