Includes English introduction, act descriptions, named performer portraits, geiko/maiko and teacher photographs, views of the Gion performance venue, first-class seats, waiting rooms, ceremonial tea room, Geisha Training Hall, ornamental articles carried by dancers, color costume illustrations, and numerous period advertisements for Kyoto merchants, sake, soy sauce, cosmetics, and other goods.
Original Japanese-style string binding and decorated paper covers. Interior pages are generally well-preserved for age with expected toning and light handling wear. Covers show edge/corner wear, rubbing, creasing, and age-related wear. Original cord binding present; one cord end was carefully rethreaded/resecured using the original cord.
