Selling a large \"tejido\" or textured black graphite bowl done by the late Casa Grandes potter Reynaldo Quezada. Reynaldo learned to make pottery from his brother Juan Quezada and his brother Nicholas. His major claim to fame was examples like this, graphite polished black bowls, vases and flying saucers with corrugated surfaces. A liquid graphite was applied and polished to give the piece its sheen. There is a similar example selling on for $1495 or best offer with 10 people watching. There is a slightly larger 18 inch example selling at Andrea Fisher in Santa Fe, New Mexico for $1800. City Farm Antiques online is selling an example for $1200. The bowl I am selling measures 14 inches in diameter. Artist signed on back. In tremendous condition.
Most collectors would love to have an example like this one but do not wish to pay the high gallery prices of available pieces. I sell quality items and more than fair prices and find new homes for these high end items.
I also charge a very modest shipping fee.
A great example for a gallery to purchase to double in price and sell.
