During the early Vietnam War years (1961–1965), U.S. Army Special Forces personnel frequently sought out commercial and military-issue Canadian green berets produced by Dorothea Knitting Mills (Toronto) due to their superior dark rifle-green wool, fit, and high-quality leather rim construction.
