Up for sale is a rare, vintage Italian-made miniature desktop reliquary plaque honoring Blessed Mary of the Divine Heart (Soror Maria a Divino Corde Droste). This beautiful devotional piece was manufactured in Italy (stamped \"MOD. Nº 48 MADE IN ITALY\" on the reverse) around the time of her 1975 beatification.
Item Details:
• Relief Artwork: Highly detailed, embossed metal foil repoussé portrait featuring the nun in her traditional habit wearing a Sacred Heart pendant.
• The Relic: The lower corner contains an officially encapsulated 3rd-class cloth relic (ex indumentis) featuring the printed Latin seal of her religious order, The Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd of Angers.
• Intact Wax Seal: The reverse side of the foil plate reveals the original, completely undisturbed dark resin/wax tamper-evident seal placed over the relic chamber to guarantee authenticity.
• Display Stand: Set in a vintage white molded plastic frame with a built-in fold-out metal wire easel stand for table, shelf, or altar display.
Dimensions:
• Approximately 3.5 inches tall by 2.25 inches wide.
Condition Note:
The thin metal foil insert has naturally separated from the molded frame because the original 50-year-old factory adhesive dried out over time (amber glue residue is visible on the inner frame). It can easily be permanently reglued or held securely from behind with a small piece of low-tack tape. The embossed foil itself, the clear relic window, the reverse wax seal, and the plastic easel stand are all structurally intact and in excellent vintage condition with an elegant aged patina.
Please Note: Per policy and historical collecting traditions, this item is sold strictly as a vintage Italian decorative frame, stand, and embossed art foil. The enclosed 3rd-class devotional cloth relic is included entirely as a gift at no monetary value.
Rarity Note: Unlike the common pocket medals for this saint, this is a highly scarce, larger 3.5-inch tabletop easel version. It is an incredibly hard-to-find piece of history featuring a beautifully preserved, complete wax seal backing over the relic capsule on the reverse side of the foil.\"
I will not be adhering the foil to the frame. That will be left up to buyer.
