An absolute crown jewel for Early American Pattern Glass Collectors(EAPG) and numisatic antiquarians! This is authentic, original 1892 issue "U.S. Coin" pattern covered butter dish (Pattern No. 15005), produced by the Central Glass Company of Wheeling, WV (U.S. Glass Co). This museum- quality piece features a square-fluted bottom base tray intricately molded with frosted raised legal U.S. Coin medallionfrom 1892, paitred with its matching havy lidded dome top and structural glass finial handle. The U.S. Federal Government completely distroyed this pattern's molds after 5-6 months of production due to strict anti-counterfeiting laws. I have the matching sugar bowl/jar listed separately. Please refer to the pics to note chips on the underside of the lid and on one medallion on the base. Shipping will include double boxing with securing this fragile item in bubblewrap and appropriate filler.
