A matched pair of Chinese porcelain foo dog (guardian lion) figures decorated in a polychrome palette with dominant green, iron-red, yellow, and celadon enamels over a finely incised textured body. Each figure features an open snarling mouth, scrollwork mane details, a rounded barrel body, and the Chinese character 王 (Wang, meaning 'king') painted on the forehead. The bodies are hollow with a large oval open base, consistent with a censer or brush-pot form rather than a solid figurine. The glaze is vibrant overall; however, one figure has a notable glaze chip/loss on the lower body exposing bare bisque, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches across, clearly visible in detail images — please review all photos carefully before purchase. Additional minor surface wear and small glaze losses are present on the lower body and feet of both figures, consistent with age and handling. Inventory numbers ('IL' on one base, '21' in red on the other) are painted on the unglazed foot pads. No reign mark or maker's mark is present. Attribution to late Qing, Republic period, or later 20th-century export production is probable but unconfirmed. Each figure stands approximately 9 to 10 inches tall based on visual proportion.
