This is an original 1930s vintage stoneware beer stein from one of the Nazi party rallies that was held annually in Nuremberg from 1933 - 1938. The image stamped in blue on the beer stein shows a silhouette of the city during the Middle Ages accompanied by blue lettering "Nürnberg die Stadt der Reichsparteitage" (Nuremberg the city of the Reichs party days) and the city's coat of arms. "1 L" stamped to the left of handle near the lip like it was done to all of these original steins. The stein used to have a pewter lid which is no longer present. The stein was produced in various capacities, typically 0.5 liters and 1 liter, this is the larger 1 liter one. Nice rare example of a Third Reich beer stein commemorating the annual NSDAP rally in Nuremberg. The stein measures 7 3/4" height and the mouth on top is 3 1/2" in diameter. The image on the stein is complete and in perfect condition, no chipping or fading. Typical age wear to stein, 2" surface hairline on inside wall (please refer to pictures for condition).
