Original NASA photo printed by NASA's Photography Technology Labratory. Paper on back watermarked with "This paper Manufactured By Kodak", also contains original technician pencil mark for cutting off roll.
Handheld 70 mm Hasselblad Earth-looking photograph taken during Skylab 3 (28 July – 25 September 1973). The crew was Alan Bean, Owen Garriott, and Jack Lousma. The grid of fine + marks is the reseau plate built into the space-modified Hasselblad 500EL; those fiducials were used for photogrammetry and mapping.
The image is an oblique Earth-limb view: thin atmosphere along the curve, cloud tops, and a large arid landmass with a prominent winding drainage feature. The deep magenta-purple sky is typical of period Ektachrome (SO-368) processing and vintage color prints from the JSC photo lab.
The number 42 at the bottom of the image area is a print or sequence number on this particular copy, not part of the official NASA frame ID.
