WHAT\'S INCLUDED: EN BLOC CLIPA Berthier without its en bloc clip is a single-loader carrying a magazine it can\'t use. This five-round steel clip is the piece that turns an Mle 16 rifle or carbine back into the repeater France sent to war, dropping a full charge of 8mm Lebel into the action in one push. The Berthier system loads the clip right along with the cartridges, and the clip rides in the magazine until the last round is chambered, then falls free through the bottom. Stamped ribs stiffen the body, the side windows cut weight and show the rounds inside, and the symmetrical design goes in either way up. No fumbling in the mud for the right side.France\'s early Berthiers held only three rounds, and the trenches of 1915 made that shortfall impossible to ignore. The Mle 16 pattern stretched the magazine to five, and five-round clips like this one fed Berthiers through the rest of the Great War and back into service in 1939 and 1940 with French and colonial troops.Plenty of Berthiers surface today with an empty magazine and no way to fill it. One steel clip, five rounds of 8mm Lebel, and the rifle finally runs the way its designers drew it.WE DO NOT SHIP TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA!!!Inventory Code: 2-C-2EF
