Original 1968 Robert F. Kennedy presidential campaign memorabilia with a fantastic period portrait design. This large 3.5” button features a black-and-white photograph of RFK surrounded by bold red and blue “ROBERT F. KENNEDY FOR PRESIDENT” lettering—a great surviving piece from Kennedy’s brief 1968 presidential campaign. Please note! All of my items are priced to sell specifically to an customer. I LOVE sourcing and collecting and have handpicked every item for its uniqueness, rarity or visual impact. I price them here on to share these things with other people like me who appreciate them. I simply try to make back what I spent, plus the time that goes into sourcing, cleaning, packing, etc. So please enjoy and shop!!Estate provenance: I acquired this button as part of a group of seven vintage presidential and campaign buttons from the estate of an antique dealer in Inglewood, California, who collected and restored antique radios. The group included John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Barry Goldwater and two Robert F. Kennedy buttons.Along the curled edge of this button is a tiny, partially concealed period printer/union marking. Only part of the wording remains visible because it falls beneath the original crimp; I have intentionally left the button untouched rather than attempting to lift or alter the edge to expose it. Please see the close-up photograph.Robert F. Kennedy announced his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination in March 1968. His campaign lasted less than three months, ending with his assassination after winning the California primary in June 1968. Original material specifically produced for his presidential campaign represents a remarkably short and consequential period in American political history.Measures approximately 3.5” in diameter.Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and oxidation to the metal back. The front retains strong color and presents very nicely. Uncleaned and unrestored, exactly as acquired from the estate. Please review all photographs for condition, including the original back, pin construction and curled edge.A great piece for an RFK, Kennedy family, 1968 presidential campaign or American political memorabilia collection.
