Hi all!
These are Beautiful Large Fossil Otodus obliquus Shark Teeth from Morocco! Otodus obliquuswas a huge species of prehistoric shark widely believedto be a direct ancestor to the infamous Megalodon. It lived approximately65 to 45 million years ago and grew to nearly 30 feet (9 meters) in length! It would have fed primarily on large fish and other sharks as well as marine mammals after they evolved. Its teeth are well known for being large and triangular without serrations with large cusps on each side where the enamel meets the root. Over time the teeth would get larger, develop serrations, and the cusps would get smaller and smaller until disappearing while the tooth and shark reached maximum size in Megalodon. The teeth each measure just over 2 inches!
Each Tooth comes in a 4.3 x 4.3 inch floating frame with and info card that labels the fossil and details the age and location it was found and some fun facts about Otodus!
You will receive one floating frame Otodus Shark Tooth per order. You may pick whichever pictured tooth you want, please message me BEFORE you order to make sure the one you want is still available. if I don't hear from you before shipping one will be picked at random.
