This is an original United States military issue early World War II M1A2 Service gas mask assembly complete with its original corrugated hose, M1XA1 filter canister, and canvas carrier bag. Mask is in very good condition. Rubber is flexible and soft. The interior rubber does have storage dirt, debris and possibly mold. Stencil on the interior reads \"Seiberling\". A lot number appears under the manufacturer name. Very little soiling on the exterior of the mask. Head straps are in VG condition. Hose is intact and in VG condition as well as canister. Some of the metal parts have some oxidation. The mask does appear to have been unused. The flutter valve has dry rotted and broken from the mask--there appears to be pieces of this valve in the bag. Bag is in good VG condition. The straps are securely attached with heavy fraying in a few places (see photos). Please note: This item is being sold strictly as a historical militaria collectible artifact and display piece.
