- Giant-Size Conan the Barbarian #1 (Sept 1974): "The Hour of the Dragon," first issue.
- Giant-Size Super-Stars #1 (May 1974): the Thing vs. the Hulk. The 35-cent issue that became Giant-Size Fantastic Four.
- Giant-Size Avengers #1, #2, #3 and #5 (1974-75): #1 with Nuklo; #2 with Kang and Rama-Tut, "Death of an Avenger!"
- Giant-Size Invaders #1 (June 1975): first issue. Captain America, Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, Bucky, Toro.
- Giant-Size Man-Thing #1 and Giant-Size Master of Kung Fu #1: first issues.
- Giant-Size Chillers #1 (Feb 1975): the horror anthology series.
- Giant-Size Captain America #1, Hulk #1, Daredevil #1, Dr. Strange #1, Iron Man #1, Captain Marvel #1 and Marvel Triple Action #1: the 1975 annual collections.
Each book reads "Giant-Size" with its issue number and a 50-cent price in the cover box (Super-Stars #1: 35 cents). Indicia checked on Chillers #1: Marvel Comics Group, 575 Madison Avenue, a division of Cadence Industries, 1975.
Condition. The flaws, first:
- Avengers #5 is the weakest book: creases across the front cover and wear along the spine. Photos 7, 8, 10.
- Avengers #2: a small chip with a little paper loss at one back-cover corner, with a short crease running up from it. Photo 11.
- Spider-Man #1 (about VG): the centerfold is detached at one staple. Photo 12.
- Normal handling wear across the lot: light spine ticks and edge wear on some copies, cream to tan interior paper (normal for 1970s newsprint).
Strengths: most books are bright and flat in the fine to very fine range (photo 6 shows Hulk #1 under side light: glossy, no creases). Conan #1 is about VF-. Every centerfold except Spider-Man #1's is held by both staples, every Marvel Value Stamp is intact, and there is no writing, no tape and no clipped coupon in any book (checked in hand).
Every cover and every back cover is shown in photos 1 and 9. Ask for a close-up of any book and I will send it.
Raw books, not professionally graded; grades are my own from the photos.
