Offered for the first time ever – a genuine handwritten word from the famed French military officer, nobleman and trusted Major General in the Continental Army, Lafayette, authenticated and encapsulated by (BAS) Beckett Authentication Services.
An exclusive CutWordCo Limited Edition, this is the first set of the Marquis de Lafayette's handwriting encapsulated by Beckett we’ve ever offered for sale! A single word or section of handwriting in the hand of George Washington's trusted friend and ally, volunteer officer in the Revolutionary War, and tireless supporter of young America's independence.
Each encapsulated handwriting was individually removed from a May 28, 1829 letter written by Lafayette from his La Grange estate to a friend attempting to clarify a simple misunderstanding that stirred some folks up, his noting no lasting harm from it "...since everything is stirred up every day", his regret at being stuck away from Paris, and musing about one visitor who has perhaps overstayed her welcome in the countryside.
You will not receive a copy of the letter from Lafayette, the 4th image is shown purely to illustrate where the handwriting came from. You will only receive the BAS encapsulated handwriting, encapsulate #18180618.
Genuine Lafayette autograph letters can cost thousands of dollars. This encapsulated handwriting offers a rare and affordable opportunity to own an authentic piece of the legendary French military officer's handwriting at a fraction of the cost of a letter.
