This is a complete and near perfect example of a hadrosaur ilium from the Hell Creek formation. The species is most likely Edmontosaurus or Maiasaura. It is especially rare to find pelvic bones in such a well preserved state. There is a little bit of compaction that occurred during the fossilization process near the back end of the bone but is other wise perfect.
The specimen came from a friend of mine who is a retired paleontology professor from Georgia.
It will come with the custom steel stand that is incredibly strong and supportive. It displays extremely well as you can see.
Selling because I have too many big bones and need to free up some space for new specimens coming in. Check out my store as I’ll be posting more of the collection for sale!
Please let me know if I can answer and questions. I am happy to share and knowledge I might have!!
Unfortunately, I will not be able to ship the bone due to concerns regarding fragility. I must insist on local pickup from NYC. If you are interested and live near within a reasonable distance, we may be able to figure out some kind of delivery. I will include a large piece of foam that cushions the bone for short trips.
