Note: This pan is one of the first I am selling. I would be glad to receive any response you have to improve future products.
This is a restored Lodge cast iron skillet. It is a #8 or 10.5\" pan. It has a fire ring on the bottom with three notches. Its cooking surface is very smooth and its walls are tinned indicating it was likely manufactured between 1940 and 1960. It weighs 4 lbs. 9 oz.
Restoration Process
1. This pan was cleaned in an electrolysis tank to remove rust, old seasoning, baked on food particles and anything else stuck to the pan.
2. Once removed from the electrolysis tank, I thoroughly washed it with mild detergent and scrubbed it with mild abrasives like a green scrubber pad or grade 0000 ultra-fine steel wool to remove any last remaining bits from the bare iron surface.
3. The pan was then immediately fully dried and coated with oil and placed in the oven to add seasoning. This pan received six layers of seasoning with grapeseed oil, baked at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour for each coat of seasoning.
Defects
1. This pan has only minor marks from cooking utensils consistent with normal use.
2. It has a slight discoloration in the iron in the center of the cooking surface which is not uncommon with older pans and will not effect its cooking ability.
