This elegant French porcelain pill box was made by Fontanille & Marraud of Limoges, France. The underside bears the Porcelaine Artistique F.M. Limoges France backstamp. Its petite round form is finished in a rich cobalt blue glaze with a gold floral bouquet across the domed lid and generous gold gilt banding around the borders.
The deep cobalt and gold palette gives the piece the opulent look associated with traditional Limoges decorative porcelain. Although specifically a pill box, its petite size also makes it a lovely trinket box for rings, earrings or other tiny keepsakes.
