Beautiful large flag of the Russian empire.
I\'ve seen extremely similar flags made for the crowning of Nicholas II in 1896, this design was also used extensively in france were this flag was found during the Tsar visit to Paris 1896 and ww1 as a patriotic flag to show support to the russian allie.
It is an extremely rare flag, imperial standards don\'t surface frequently. It is made of two panels stitched together in the middle. I do not know if it was originally like that or a repair.
The stitch is in a bad condition in some parts but with appropriate restauration or conservation works it would make an outstanding display item.Colors are rarely this vivid in russian imperial standards. Yellow tends to be a very colorfast dyeIf you need more pictures feel free to send me a message.
I have other flags for sale on my page.
