Stereoview dating to the 1860s that shows the SteamerMinnehaha on Lake George, New York.Photographer is not identified.This stereoview was part of the Robert Joki upstate New York collectionthat I obtained in 2012.

Provenance:The stereoview in this listing is from the Robert Joki collection. Joki was a collector of New York statestereoviews, and Saratoga Springs, in particular. His Saratoga collection is now at theSaratoga Springs Public Library. Hewrote a book titled “Saratoga Lost: Images of Victorian America” with imagesfrom his collection. His book, as of thetime that I am writing this, is available on (among other places). In 2012 I was able to obtain part of hiscollection of upstate New York at the 2012 D.C. Photo Show. Most I sold shortly thereafter, but I held onto what I thought were the earliest and/or the most interesting. It’s now time to let them go and youropportunity to own a piece of New York history.

[Joki’s Obituary, in part] SARATOGA SPRINGS-RobertJoki, 61, of Saratoga Springs, passed away at his home early Friday morning,October 8, 2010, in the presence of his family.Bob received his B. A. and M. A. degrees from the State University ofNew York at Albany. His life-long passion was antiques as a profession and ahobby. He was also a well known Saratoga historian and author of the bookSaratoga Lost.
