This beautiful antique photographic postcard features La Vampa, an exotic dancer who performed on European stages during the early twentieth century and whose appearances included a production of Sacred Egyptian Dances advertised in Germany in December 1905. Posing in an elegant off-the-shoulder dark gown with a fitted bodice, La Vampa displays her short, voluminous curls and striking features in a beautifully composed studio portrait that captures the glamour of the Edwardian entertainment world. Published by the renowned Berlin photographic firm Georg Gerlach & Co., the postcard bears the publisher\'s distinctive GG Co. logo (no.230/6). Dating from approximately 1905–1910, the card has an unused divided back. The postcard is in fair antique condition, retaining attractive sepia tones and excellent facial detail, with some scattered surface marks, particularly on the dark dress, and light edge and corner wear (see scans). This is an appealing original portrait of a documented Edwardian-era dancer.
